Submerged arc welding
The Jamet company offers you professional submerged arc welding. We warmly invite you to get yourself familiar with the following offer and find out why it is worth to start cooperation with us!
Why is it worth to trust us?
Our company has been providing comprehensive services related to the production of spare parts and the machining and regeneration of steel elements for over thirty years. So far, global corporations, such as Fiat and ArcelorMittal, have trusted us. This does not mean, however, that we do not help smaller businesses. Every year new companies start up their business. We make every effort to ensure that every order, regardless of the reputation of the client, is executed with the highest efficiency. Because although we approach each order individually, we try to maintain service quality always at the highest level.
What is submerged arc welding?
This welding method, also known as SAW welding, is a process in which a welding arc is formed between the welded component and an electrode wire. The name of this procedure is taken from the fact that the arc is not visible because it is covered by a layer of granular flux. This flux is partially melted, forming slag on the device. Uninsulated wire is unrolled from the drum or spool, which is then fed by a system of electrically driven rollers into the groove of the weld.
During submerged arc welding, the temperature of the arc varies between 5000 and 6000 K. At this high temperature, the electrode wire and part of the base material are melted. Then we can observe the formation of the so-called weld puddle. This puddle is separated from the atmosphere by the melted flux. Thanks to this, the arc is stabilized and the flux itself also controls the chemical composition of the weld and influences the general shape of the welding bead. Under the influence of increased pressure, gases and vapors which form a gas space around the arc are also released. This space is in turn separated from the air by liquid slag surrounded by gases.
In submerged arc welding, a number of parameters such as arc voltage, welding speed and amperage rating are also of great importance. It is these parameters that impact how long the weld metal will remain in the liquid state. Within a few seconds, chemical reactions take place in the puddle, giving the joint a specific shape and consistency. As the arc begins to move away, the puddle crystallizes. This also leads to the formation of a bead on the surface of which congealed layers of slag immediately appear and are removed at the end of the procedure. The flux left over from welding, which has not been melted, can be used again during the next treatment.
The greatest advantages of submerged arc welding
This technique has a number of advantages that make it so popular with companies all over the world. First of all, submerged arc welding is extremely efficient. The end result is very durable and we can reliably strengthen the structure. Another advantage is the high working culture. The welds are extremely smooth, and on their surface we will not find any unsightly splashes. The welded joints are strong and durable, without being subjected to the extreme conditions present in their environment. Machining with a permanent arc is also a great convenience and efficiency – the welding speed can reach very high values here.
What submerged arc welding equipment do we have?
Because submerged arc welding is a procedure that is carried out using technically advanced equipment, Jamet's machine park has two stands for roller flood welding, two stands for wheel flood welding and a number of advanced equipment for all possible machining operations – electrode, TIG and MIG/MAG welding. Thanks to this, we are able to carry out effective welding on a wide range of elements.
Guarantee of cost-effectiveness and efficiency
At Jamet, we believe that every order should be treated individually and the costs should be adjusted to the actual scope of work. Thanks to this, we are able to guarantee you the highest quality of services, going hand in hand with the most attractive prices in the area of the Silesian Voivodeship.
